Balneario Camboriu, with 80-000 inhabitants, is situated along the 4 mile Central Beach and offers the unique mixture of a downtown city right on the beach. All activities along the beach, all restaurants and bars, the commerce in every street corner, the tight environment, and the beautiful landscape view of the city with the sea, the skyscraper line and the surrounding green hills bring this city a special atmosphere that attracts elderly as well as younger people.

The coast line south of Balneario Camboriu can be reached via Interpraias, an 8 mile long road of high quality that runs through 6 beaches, from the popular Laranjeiras to the deserted Taquarinhas. Local colonies of fishermen utilize the beach Taquaras, while Estaleiro and Estalerinho mainly are populated by tourists and local inhabitants who enjoy the fantastic nature and the calm atmosphere. In this area lies also the beach Pinho, the first nudist beach in Brazil.
